Candidate’s finances…interesting look at the District 2 Council Race

I stumbled across this article in the Inside BayArea and was amazed to see the finances being accumulated for the final push of the election.  How much is your candidate spending?  Much like any political campaign (person or issue) it’s a shame that whoever or whatever cause carries the bankroll typically pulls the most ballots.

Speaking of ballots, did you get yours in the mail this week? Have you made your decision for the District 2 City Council Candidate to replace Danny Wan? I’m supporting Todd Plate  for a couple of different reasons.

Kernighan’s war chest about twice the size of next largest in District 2 race

OAKLAND — Pat Jungian has spent nearly $47,000 so far in her effort to capture the vacant Grand Lake-Chinatown seat on the Oakland City Council, far more than any of the seven other candidates in the race, according to records filed Thursday with the Oakland city clerk.

In all, Kernighan, who was chief of staff to former Councilmember Danny Wan before he resigned, raised about $86,000 and has nearly $40,000 on hand for the last six weeks of the campaign.
